The Plot Thickens

(Update: As per Joel’s request, here is the mugshot of the show’s producer. Is this the face of America’s next big reality producer, or of a creepy amateur pornographer? To quote Enya, only time will tell.)
This shit is getting deeper. It was reported in the Orlando Sentinel that the company that produced the soon to be Cable Ace award nominee Pauper to Princess had other recent projects that some might say were less than savory.
Dream House Productions got in a little trouble about four months back for running a live, streaming online porno site. The site was one of those voyeuristic, hidden cameras all over the house type things. Oh, and it was filmed in the same house where they filmed the low-rent reality show.
Apparently, the whole story has come to our attention because a couple of the contestants were messing with the cameras and found a sex tape featuring their “chaperone.” First of all, I am totally shocked that a show of this caliber and class would employ a woman who had made pornography as a chaperone. Second, I am not clear on why she was a chaperone and not a contestant.
Then, of course, we have to wrestle with the question of how the contestants were allowed to have free reign with a camera. Do you think that type of shit could happen on some VH1 show? If the producers of Flavor of Love made some porno (which I’m sure they have), do you think they would be careless enough to leave it somewhere where a contestant on the show could conceivably find it? Would they leave Thing 1 and Thing 2 alone long enough for them to snoop around with the producer’s cameras?
All this is ludicrous, though I do think that my original assertion that this may all be the result of some crazy jilted contestant was way off. No doubt these were crazy women, but there was definitely more going on here than princess makeovers.
My new bet is that there were cameras in the bathroom, or some wild shit like that. Their crappy reality show might not get sold to a network, but the market is always good for hidden camera pee videos.
I still think there’s more going on here that’s yet to be revealed. As always, Friesen Point will be there, giving you the most up to date coverage of the stories that matter most to me, which is mostly just stories that involve reality TV or might involve pornography. And stories that I suspect involve hidden camera pee videos.

Post the pic of the producer who was arrested! If I was looking to turn myself from a pauper to a princess, that fat asshole would be the guy I’d hire.
Now just change the phrase above from “to turn myself from a pauper to a princess” to “to be unkowingly taped while urinating” and it makes a lot more sense.
Who would’ve guessed that something like this would happen in the totally normal state of Florida?
That is true, this is probably the number one worst and weirdest thing that has ever happened in Florida.
Ok…so it it bad that I think this show might be actually entertaining to watch? C’mon cheap white trash girls getting the PWT kicked out of them to become somewhat productive members of society? That’s some good freaking TV…watch WE pick it up, or Oxygen…
First, no, that’s not bad at all. Half of all reality television is based on that sentiment. Second, there’s no way that the show could succeed in making these “paupers” into princesses. Third, the plot of the show is too similar to The Bad Girls Club for it to be on Oxygen, so I would assume that WE would pick it up. That is, if they can find a place in their schedule between all those Golden Girls reruns.
Plus, if it turns out that there was something deviant going on, I would think that the feminist networks might shy away from it. Maybe it would have a better chance on the CW.
Like…I think it’s funny because this production company is getting SOOOOO much publicity…y’know? And technically NOTHING was done wrong, these girls are under contract, if that’s the case why doesn’t every losing contestant of Big Brother and Survivor make a lawsuit. These people are gonna make a boatload when they go after everyone for libel and defamation of character…LOL…but yea, if it was on the CW, I’d so watch it…lol
Well, I’m not certain that there was nothing wrong done. In one story I read, it was reported that the production company failed to pay the contestants the $500 a week they were contractually obligated to pay them. If that’s the case, then the contract was breeched by the producers, and the contestants are entirely in the right. Also let’s not forget, something that is definitely wrong that was allegedly done is a little thing called wrongful imprisonment. Whether that allegation turns out to be true or not remains to be seen, but I’m sticking with my theory that there was something evil, something macabre going on in this house that we haven’t been told about yet. I predict we’ll learn more in the coming weeks.
